Charlotte Hodges, M.D.
BARIATRIC DIRECTOR
Dr. Charlotte Hodges is the bariatric director at White Rock Medical Center. Board Certified by the American Board of Surgery, Dr. Hodges is an Advanced Laparoscopic General and Bariatric Surgeon who has practiced in DFW since 2011. She has performed over 3,000 general and bariatric procedures. Dr. Hodges received her medical degree from Texas A&M University Health Science Center and completed her general surgery residency at Baylor University Medical Center. She is a member of the Texas Medical Association, American Medical Association, Dallas County Medical Society, Society of Baylor Surgeons, and is a Center of Excellence surgeon with United Healthcare.
Bryan D. Brewer, M.D.
BARIATRIC SURGEON
Dr. Bryan D. Brewer is Board Certified by the American Board of Surgery. He is an Advanced Laparoscopic General and Bariatric Surgeon who has practiced in DFW since 2011. He specializes in a broad range of minimally invasive general surgery and bariatric procedures. Dr. Brewer attended Tulane University in New Orleans for undergraduate and graduate degrees in Cell and Molecular Biology. He received his medical degree from University of Texas Medical School Houston and completed his general surgery residency at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas. He is a member of the Texas Medical Association, Dallas County Medical Society and Society of Baylor Surgeons.
Russ Birdwell, M.D.
BARIATRIC SURGEON
Dr. Russ Birdwell specializes in both general and bariatric surgery. He is credentialed to perform the gastric sleeve using the da Vinci robot. He attended medical school at Texas Tech University School of Medicine in Lubbock and completed his residency at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock. Since entering private practice in 2001, one of Dr. Birdwell’s highest priorities has been creating a positive experience for patients in his surgical care. He is committed to providing the highest quality and technically advanced surgical interventions in a truly compassionate and caring manner. His reputation for his comforting bedside manner and caring attitude has made him highly regarded for surgical treatment and intervention.
Thomas Wang, M.D.
BARIATRIC SURGEON
With a strong foundation in biomedical engineering, Dr. Wang employs an innovative approach to solving clinical problems. His surgical philosophy centers on cutting-edge adaptability, utilizing developed and novel technologies including robotics, instrumentation, and biomaterials in his practice. After completing surgical residency with the State University of New York at Buffalo, he returned to Texas for a minimally invasive surgical fellowship with the University of Texas Health Sciences Center at Houston. His fellowship training in advanced laparoendoscopic surgery focused on micro-invasive instrumentation, creating skin incisions so small, they do not even need to be stitched closed, and on advanced endoscopic techniques that can obviate the need for surgery in certain situations.
